I guess what bothers me the most, right off the bat, is how every single word of this is true. We have been trained to look past words on a page and at the symbols of fortune 500’s and accept all the “good” they do for society.
Now obviously this isn’t a real advertisement, but it doesn’t mean it doesn’t speak the truth in every syllable. I read this, laughed and a few hours later bought my very own Starbucks coffee. How is it that we can be stimulated so much by a brand that no matter what combination of words they lay over pictures we continue to be reminded of how “great” they are?
Do these things matter in life so much to us that the idea of child molesters being cool still remind us of the coffee we should buy? That experiment has been conducted, tested, proven and results verified.
This ad says one thing and one thing only: “You’re right I have been brain washed. When is the next time I can get a coffee?”
